The Frame From Samsung – Like A Television, Painted

Kein Bild, sondern ein Fernseher: Der Samsung Frame TV in unserer TV-Vorführung
With the Serif TV, Samsung has tried to redesign the TV itself as a piece of lifestyle furniture, so that it fits better visually into the room. Now Samsung ups the game with The Frame, which hangs like a picture frame on the wall.

Individual design through the art mode

When the TV is in the art mode, one can almost hang the dearest works of art into the living room. Samsung provides over 100 paintings and photos of various painters, photographers, artists and so on in various categories such as architecture, nature or drawings. The predominantly modern pictures were selected by a curator. In the Art Store, the plants can be expanded. You have the possibility to purchase the artwork either separately or in a monthly subscription. The passepartout of the respective picture can also be selected individually and adapted in color and style. Of course, you can also upload your own pictures via the smartphone or USB stick to the TV.

By the way: Motion and light sensors were integrated into the frame TV, which respond to the changed light conditions during the day. Thus, the brightness of the image of the respective day of the day or the light conditions in the room in which the television is located is adjusted. The motion sensors in combination with a timer ensure that the frame is not unnecessarily put into operation.

The Frame TV has a metal-brushed titanium frame. In order to support the impression of the painting, additional frames can be purchased in the colors white, dark brown or light brown. Because they are magnetic, they can easily be attached to the standard frame. There are other ways to set the frame TV. For this purpose, a table base is attached to the unit, with which it can also be set up. Optionally an easel stand is available, with which the television gives the impression of a painting.

Technology and connections

The internal life of the frame is based on the technology that is also used in other current Samsung series – Ultra HD resolution and HDR support for particularly high picture quality with strong contrasts and natural colors included. Available in two sizes – in 55 inches as well as in 65 inches.

Samsung has ensured that the Frame TV is fixed without gap between the back and the wall, as is also known from paintings. On the device is a wall bracket, which brings the TV very flat to the wall. In the reverse, however, this also means that as with the QLED TVs no connections can be integrated. Instead, the TV is connected to the included One Connect Box via a cable, which is up to 5 meters long, barely visible, which has integrated four HDMI interfaces and a twin tuner. In the One Connect Box, the current DVB-T2 HD connection is self-reported. A 15 meter cable is available separately.

As already known from Samsung, The Frame uses the user interface Samsung Smart Hub. Various apps and externally connected devices can be managed. The Smart Remote remote control also provides fast access to the art mode or, for example, your own soundbar. Since the remote control is connected via Bluetooth to the TV and the connection box, it does not have to have any visual contact.

Conclusion

Electronics and lifestyle: after the Serif TV, The Frame is the second design TV from Samsung. It is an aesthetic TV, which fits gently into the domestic premises. If you want to use the TV not only for the usual programs, but at the same time to give the space something special, the frame TV is the heart.
